Sellers Attends Week of Champions – and Prepares for Loudon

Kansas City, MO --- Peyton Sellers will be attending the Skills USA Week of Champions in Kansas City, Missouri this week, prior to his arrivalin Loudon for the New England 125 at New Hampshire International Speedway.  Sellers has been a long-time supporter of education, running under the banner of “Stay in School” for most of his racing career. 

That cause created interest from his alma mater, Danville Community College, who sponsored Sellers during his rise to the Dodge Weekly Racing Series National Champion in 2005. Currently sponsored by Strutmasters.com, the “Stay in School” platform continues on the team’s car, and the prior association with DCC has generated support from SkillsUSA for the team.

SkillsUSA (formerly VICA/DECA), founded in 1965, is a national non-profit organization of students and teachers spanning 130 different trade, technical, and skilled service occupations across 15,000 classrooms in 3,700 public schools across the US.  SkillsUSA provides professional development, enhanced curriculum, and exposure to quality education experiences in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development.  This week caps the organization’s largest event, theSkillsUSA Championships, which attracts over 15,000 attendees and over $32MM in corporate support.

“Our association with education has been and will continue to be important to our team”, said Sellers, who has often been asked to speak at technical schools throughout the Southeast.  “We are proud to have been invited to the Week of Champions, and look forward to participating in this worthwhile cause”.

The team is also looking forward to Friday’s race in Loudon, New Hampshire, where Sellers has run twice before.  “We know the track, and we like the track.  We’re hoping for another good run”.  Sellers is currently fourth in total points in the Busch East Series.
