Sellers Moves into Third with Strong Performance at Loudon
Loudon, NH --- Peyton Sellers threw down another solid performance Friday night in the caution-filled New England 125 Busch East Grand National race at New Hampshire International Speedway. The #83 Strutmasters.com Chevrolet qualified fourth in a field of 43 cars, and took the early race lead for several laps.
Sellers took to the pits on lap 48 while running second, and worked his way back into the top five before a right rear flat tire on lap 72. Several cautions in the second half of the race made it difficult to continue moving through the pack, but Sellers was s till able to avoid trouble and finish 9th, moving him up to third now in the series in total points.
“We had a good car again that was capable of running with the leaders, but with all the cautions in the back half of the race we just didn’t have time to get back to the front before the checkered flew.” The former NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series National Champion has had a strong showing in the NASCAR Busch East Series this season, after finishing 5th in points and taking Rookie of the Year honors in the NASCAR Grand National West Series last year.
Friday night’s race in Loudon will be broadcast on SPEED Channel’s Racing Across America on July 18th at 12:00. Please check your local listings.
July will be a busy month for the team, with races in Connecticut, Tennessee and New York. The next race on July 14th will be run in Thompson, CT at the .625 mile Thompson International Speedway, and will be shown live on HD Net at 9:00 PM. The team is continuing to pursue a competitive schedule for the season, and is hoping that their continued strong performance will attract additional sponsors.
