Expectations Still High for Sellers
Thompson, CT --- Saturday night was a night of confidence and high expectations for Peyton Sellers in the NASCAR Busch East Series Pepsi Racing 100 at Thompson International Speedway. After qualifying fifth of 30 drivers, the team felt good about the odds of posting their fifth top ten finish of 7 races this season. Unfortunately, an incident with Jesus Hernandez early in the race put Sellers hard into the wall. Even with significant damage to the rear of the car, Sellers was still able to post a 12th place finish.
“We’ve really got the car dialed in right now”, said H. C. Sellers, the crew chief of the #83 Strutmasters.com Chevrolet. “It’s driving as well as it has all season. It was a shame we got mixed up that early in the race, but that’s just the nature of the sport.”
Sellers, the former NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series National Champion from 2005, remains fourth in overall points in the NASCAR Busch East Series, with only 58 points separating the drivers in second through fourth place. “It’s still anybody’s series”, said Sellers. Six races still remain in the regular season, plus the Toyota All-Star Showdown.
The team has a busy July, with back-to-back races coming up in Nashville, TN and Beaver Falls, NY. The Music City 150 at the Music City Motorplex in Nashville on July 22nd will be broadcast live on HD Net this Sunday at 8:00 PM. The team hopes that its commitment to running a competitive schedule will continue to attract additional sponsors for the 2007 and 2008 seasons. |
