At age 24, Peyton Sellers has been racing competitively for 16 years, moving rapidly through the ranks of racing. Peyton has over 30 wins and over 50 poles at NASCAR sanctioned tracks.

Beginning with go-karts at age seven in the Virginia/Carolina area, he was competing in the open wheel mini sprints by age 13, where he collected 11 feature wins in his first 20 races. He attended Mike Loeshers’ Finish Line Racing School at Martinsville Speedway at age 15, receiving the Rookie of the Year award in the Super Stock Division at South Boston Speedway that same year.

Peyton moved to Orange County Speedway in 2000, where he competed in the Limited Sportsman Division, winning 3 poles and 6 feature races and again gaining Rookie of the Year honors for this division. 2001 saw Peyton score 11 feature wins en-route to winning the Orange County Limited Sportsman Track Championship.

In 2002, Sellers moved up once again, this time to the Late Model Stock Car Division at South Boston Speedway, capturing Rookie of the Year in this highly competitive division. The team then traveled to many different tracks in 2003, gaining experience across the Southeast and preparing themselves for a challenge to the national title. Sellers made his debut in the ARCA series in 2004.

By 2005, with a strong experience base and a strong crew, Peyton was red hot on the track. In 28 starts, Peyton visited Victory Lane 15 times securing him the title of NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series National Champion. Peyton is the youngest driver ever to acquire the title.

This distinction landed him a seat with Richard Childress Racing’s driver development program for the 2006 season, for which he drove the No. 16 Napa Autoparts Chevrolet for Bill McAnally Racing in the NASCAR Grand National Division, Autozone West Series in 2006, and was named Rookie of the Year. Sellers finished fifth in total points. The team also had two starts in the widely televised NASCAR Busch Series.

In 2007, Peyton came back East to race with Sellers Racing and Peyton’s brother, the noted HC Sellers, in the position of crew chief. The team finished 3rd in points in the NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch East Series. The team headed back west for the Toyota All-Star Showdown. Peyton finished 2nd in the 250 lap event in a field of 40 cars.

After an outstanding 2007 season, Peyton joins on with 4 time East Series Champion, Andy Santerre, to run for Andy Santerre Motorsports during the 2008 season.

Throughout his career, Peyton has had an association with technical schools and community colleges. A graduate himself of Danville Community College, he has taken his “Stay in School” and GED platform with him across the country, often speaking at educational institutions and events. This association lead to Peyton pairing up with SkillsUSA one of the country’s largest student organizations, to form a unique sponsorship opportunity.
