Peyton Sellers (former NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series National Champion), has joined forces with SkillsUSA, one of the country’s largest student organizations, to form a unique sponsorship opportunity.

SkillsUSA, founded in 1965, is a national non-profit organization serving 285,000 students and teachers in 130 different trade, technical and skilled service occupational training programs. In 15,000 high school and two-year college classrooms across the country, SkillsUSA students learn professional ethics, communication skills, citizenship, leadership and teamwork in addition to technical skills.

What is the need for skilled labor?
With the approaching retirement of the “baby boomers,” a worker gap as high as 35 million people will open in the U.S. labor market over the next 25 years. More than two-thirds of this gap will occur in jobs requiring technical skills.

SkillsUSA enjoys the support of nearly 1,200 business and industry partners on the national level, with thousands more serving SkillsUSA students at the state and local levels. Many of the most recognizable brands in the U.S. support SkillsUSA with financial donations, volunteer expertise and product.

What are the SkillsUSA Championships?
Every June, SkillsUSA state winners gather in Kansas City to compete in more than 80 leadership and hands-on skills contests at the national SkillsUSA Championships. The competitions occupy the equivalent of nearly 14 football fields in four downtown Kansas City buildings. The SkillsUSA Championships is the preeminent showcase of public technical education in the U.S. The contests are the highlight of the weeklong National Leadership and Skills Conference that attracts 14,000 people and more than $30 million in in-kind corporate support.

“We’re excited about being involved in something like this and with a team of this caliber.” - Tim Lawrence, Executive Director SkillsUSA

  • High impact presence at the SkillsUSA National Championships
